Approximately 1.5 million individuals were affected by the Set Forth data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, addresses, Social Security numbers, and dates of birth.
On May 21, 2024, Set Forth claims it detected potentially unauthorized activity within its computer system and promptly activated its incident response protocols. Independent computer forensic specialists were reportedly engaged to investigate the nature of the activity and assess any potential impacts on data.
The investigation purportedly revealed that personal information linked to individuals, including spouses, co-applicants, or dependents, might have been accessed during the incident.
To reinforce data security, Set Forth claims it has since introduced enhanced endpoint monitoring, completed a global password reset, and implemented further security measures to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.
As a result of the data breach, Set Forth is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
