Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Sensata Technologies.
Sensata Technologies Data Breach Summary:
A currently UNKNOWN number of individuals were affected by the Sensata Technologies data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, financial account data, payment card data, medical data, health insurance data, passport numbers, driver’s license numbers or state-issued identification card numbers, and/or other government-issued identification numbers.
In early April 2025, a significant cybersecurity incident reportedly disrupted operations at Sensata Technologies. Unauthorized actors apparently infiltrated the company's network between March 28 and April 6, deploying ransomware that encrypted certain servers. This breach purportedly affected various business functions, including shipping, receiving, and manufacturing processes. The intruders reportedly accessed and extracted files containing sensitive personal information of current and former U.S. employees, their dependents, and others associated with the company.
Upon discovering the breach on April 6, the Sensata Technologies claims to have promptly activated its incident response protocols, took affected systems offline, and engaged external cybersecurity experts to assist with the investigation. Sensata Technologies says that law enforcement agencies were notified and are involved in the ongoing inquiry. Sensata Technologies has also stated that it is enhancing existing security measures to prevent future incidents.
As a result of the data breach, Sensata Technologies is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
