Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

May 25, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Sav-Rx data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Sav-Rx.

Sav-Rx data breach summary:

On October 8, 2023, Sav-Rx detected a disruption in its computer network. In response, the company immediately secured its systems and enlisted the help of third-party cybersecurity experts. Sav-Rx's computer systems were restored the following business day, ensuring that prescription shipments were not delayed.

During the investigation, Sav-Rx found that an unauthorized third party had accessed certain non-clinical systems and obtained files containing health information. Following an extensive review with third-party experts, Sav-Rx determined on April 30, 2024, that some of the compromised data included protected health information. The forensic investigation revealed that the unauthorized access likely began around October 3, 2023.

Once the interruption was identified, Sav-Rx took action to investigate the breach and worked with external cybersecurity experts to contain it. The company has since implemented several measures to enhance its security protocols, technology, and training. Sav-Rx continues to evaluate additional options to protect its computer systems and has notified law enforcement authorities of the incident.

As a result of the data breach, Sav-Rx is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 2,812,000 individuals were affected by the Sav-Rx data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: protected health information.
