Approximately 65,000 individuals were affected by the Prestige Maintenance USA data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names in combination with other personal or protected information.
On or about January 17, 2025, Prestige Maintenance USA detected unusual activity in its internal computer systems, prompting an immediate cybersecurity investigation. That same day, the company confirmed external party access to select files. Security teams were brought in and computer systems were secured following the discovery.
Investigations suggest that roughly 300 GB of data was exfiltrated, including internal administrative information and sensitive employee records ranging from personal identification documents to HR and payroll files.
By July 14, 2025, the company completed its internal review and determined that approximately 65,000 people had affected data, including personal names, identifiers, and some protected health details. Notifications began in late July, with letters sent starting July 22 in compliance with state laws. The company notified law enforcement, engaged cybersecurity specialists throughout the investigation, and has offered credit monitoring and identity protection services to affected individuals.
As a result of the data breach, Prestige Maintenance USA is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
