Approximately 71,000 individuals were affected by the Pension Specialist data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: sensitive personal information.

On February 24, 2024, The Pension Specialists reportedly detected a network disruption and initiated an investigation. Independent cybersecurity experts were engaged to support the process. According to The Pension Specialists, the investigation determined that certain files may have been accessed or acquired without authorization between February 18, 2024, and February 20, 2024.

A comprehensive review was reportedly conducted to assess the potentially affected data and identify any personal information involved. On December 16, 2024, it was established that personal information may have been impacted. Following this determination, efforts were made to collect contact information and notify all affected individuals.

Upon discovery of the incident, The Pension Specialists claims to have implemented the outlined measures and introduced security enhancements to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

As a result of the data breach, Pension Specialist is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
