Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit
Posted: October 11, 2024 -- Attention, victims of the Omni Family Health data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Omni Family Health.
Omni Family Health Data Breach Summary:
More than 468,000 individuals were affected by the Omni Family Health data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical data, health insurance data, and financial account data used for Omni Family Health employee direct deposits.
Omni Family Health recently informed individuals of a security incident involving personal information. Omni maintains information of current and former employees, patients, and those referred for medical care.
On August 7, 2024, Omni became aware of claims that information was taken from its systems and posted on the dark web. Upon learning of these claims, Omni claims to have initiated an investigation and engaged outside cybersecurity specialists to assist. Omni also purportedly notified federal law enforcement.
Upon becoming aware of the claims, Omni has stated that it moved to investigate the claims, ensure the security of its computer systems, and identify whose information may be included in the posting. Through the investigation, Omni determined the data posted on the dark web appeared to be related to its patients and employees. Consequently, Omni is notifying individuals whose information could be included in the posted data.
As a result of the data breach, Omni Family Health is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
