Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

Posted: January 30, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the NorthBay Healthcare data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by NorthBay Healthcare.

NorthBay Healthcare Data Breach Summary:

Approximately 569,000 individuals were affected by the NorthBay Healthcare data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, date of birth, Social Security number, passport number, financial account number, medical data, biometric data, health insurance data, driver's license number, state or other government-issued identification number, username and password, and credit or debit card number, including, for some individuals, the expiration date, security code, and/or PIN.

According to NorthBay Healthcare, it recently identified unauthorized access to specific files within its computer systems, prompting an internal investigation. On February 23, 2024, limited suspicious activity was detected within the network, leading the organization to initiate a review of its systems. Law enforcement agencies were notified, and a forensic security firm was engaged to assess the extent of the intrusion and evaluate system integrity.

According to NorthBay Healthcare, findings indicated that an unauthorized entity accessed certain files between January 11, 2024, and April 1, 2024. In response, NorthBay Healthcare claims to have implemented measures to strengthen its security infrastructure and mitigate the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.

As a result of the data breach, NorthBay Healthcare is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
