Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by New York Sports Club.
New York Sports Club Data Breach Summary:
Approximately 19,000 individuals were affected by the New York Sports Club data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, social security numbers and/or passport numbers.
On July 27, 2024, New TSI Holdings, Inc./New York Sports Club experienced a data breach. By August 23, 2024, an investigation revealed that an unauthorized person accessed files on the company's servers containing employees' social security and passport numbers. This incident reportedly affected 19,836 individuals.
According to the company, it has changed passwords for servers and email accounts and is monitoring these systems. To prevent further unauthorized access, they have enhanced network security and are implementing multi-factor authentication. Monitoring reportedly also continues to ensure no future unauthorized access occurs.
As a result of the data breach, New York Sports Club is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
