Motility Software Solutions Data Breach Details:

In late August 2025, Motility Software Solutions, a Florida-based provider of dealership management software for industries like recreational vehicles and marine vehicles, detected unusual activity within its network infrastructure, prompting an immediate shutdown of the affected server to contain the issue and initiate a thorough probe with the help of external cybersecurity specialists and law enforcement.

The investigation reportedly revealed that an external unauthorized entity had infiltrated the system, potentially exposing the personal details of around 760,000 individuals, including full names, birth dates, driver's license identifiers, and Social Security numbers, though the company's parent organization, The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, confirmed its own networks remained untouched.

While the exact method of entry remains under review without public specifics on tactics like phishing or malware, the incident reportedly caused minimal disruption to client operations, and in response, Motility has begun alerting those impacted, offering free credit monitoring, and bolstering its defenses with enhanced monitoring tools to prevent future occurrences.

As a result of the data breach, Motility Software Solutions is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
