On March 10, 2024, MarineMax claims it identified a cybersecurity breach affecting a small segment of its computer network. Immediately upon discovery, the company says it took action to secure its network, enhance security protocols, start an investigation with third-party forensic experts, and inform law enforcement.
According to MarineMax, the investigation revealed that an unauthorized party accessed the network and obtained some data, including personal information of certain individuals. The investigation has now concluded, confirming the extent of the data breach.
As a result of the data breach, MarineMax is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
