Manpower of Lansing claims that on January 20, 2025, an IT outage disrupted access to certain local computer systems. Manpower of Lansing says it detected and contained the incident, then initiated an investigation with external cybersecurity experts to assess its scope and impact. The investigation purportedly revealed that an unauthorized actor accessed the network between December 29, 2024, and January 12, 2025, and possibly acquired files containing personal information. On July 28, 2025, the company reportedly determined that specific individuals’ data might have been affected, prompting data breach notifications.

Upon discovery, Manpower of Lansing claims to have secured its IT environment and implemented enhanced security measures to prevent future incidents. The company also says it informed the Federal Bureau of Investigation and has committed to cooperating fully to ensure accountability for those responsible.

As a result of the data breach, Manpower of Lansing is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
