Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Mainline Health Systems.
Mainline Health Systems Data Breach Summary:
Approximately 101,000 individuals were affected by the Mainline Health Systems data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: full names in combination with date of birth, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, US Drivers License data, Financial Account data, Financial Account Access data, Payment Card data, Payment Card Access data, Medical Record data, Patient ID data, Medicaid data, Health Insurance Policy data, Health Insurance Group data, Medical Diagnosis data, Medical Treatment Procedure data, Clinical data, Prescription data, Provider Location, Provider Name.
On or around April 10, 2024, Mainline Health Systems reportedly experienced a security incident that affected its computer network. After detecting the issue, the organization says it began an internal investigation and brought in external cybersecurity professionals to assist in assessing the situation. Federal law enforcement was also informed. A manual review of the compromised files was also purportedly conducted as part of this process.
By May 21, 2025, the investigation had revealed that some of the accessed or acquired files contained protected personal information. This unauthorized activity was reportedly linked directly to the April 10, 2024, incident and Mainline Health Systems determined that certain individuals’ data may have been exposed as a result.
Following the discovery, Mainline Health Systems says it began reviewing its existing data protection policies and staff training procedures. Steps were also reportedly taken to strengthen security systems and improve monitoring tools. The organization says it continues to assess and update its internal controls in an effort to safeguard sensitive information and reduce the likelihood of similar events in the future.
As a result of the data breach, Mainline Health Systems is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
