On or about May 27, 2025, LexisNexis Risk Solutions (LNRS) sent out notifications regarding a data breach involving the exposure of personal information. LNRS purportedly discovered the breach on April 1, 2025, though the incident itself apparently occurred on December 25, 2024. During the breach, an unauthorized third party accessed data belonging to LNRS through a software development platform managed externally. Upon identifying the unauthorized access, LNRS says it began an investigation. LNRS collaborated with external cybersecurity specialists and informed law enforcement agencies. The company conducted an evaluation of existing security measures and implemented enhancements.
Additionally, LNRS claims it undertook a comprehensive analysis of the data involved in the incident. Through this analysis, the company says it identified the specific personal information impacted by the breach.
As a result of the data breach, LexisNexis Risk Solutions is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
