Lexington Diagnostic Center
Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit
Posted: January 2, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the Lexington Diagnostic Center data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Lexington Diagnostic Center.
Lexington Diagnostic Center Data Breach Summary:
Approximately 29,800 individuals were affected by the Lexington Diagnostic Center data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, address, phone number, date of birth, Social Security number, medical record number, patient account number, health plan beneficiary number, geographic location, and/or medical diagnosis/medical treatment data.
On March 16, 2024, Lexington Diagnostic Center (LDC) discovered non-approved access to LDC’s computer network. After detection, LDC secured its computer network environment and began an investigation.
During the investigation, LDC consulted professionals in cybersecurity who frequently address incidents of this nature. According to LDC, the inquiry found that its electronic health records system was not affected. However, the inquiry also found that archival files on a computer server could have been accessed or removed between February 26, 2024, and March 16, 2024. At that time, it could not be determined whether data linked to individuals was involved.
When the inquiry identified files that might have been accessed or removed, LDC conducted a process of human review to determine whether those files contained personal or health data linked to individuals. On November 26, 2024, that process reportedly found that one or more files held personal and/or health data linked to individuals.
As a result of the data breach, Lexington Diagnostic Center is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
