Laurel Eye Clinic Data Breach Details:

Laurel Eye Clinic said in a data breach notice, that it had suffered a data security incident after a network disruption on January 26, 2025, affected the functionality and access of its systems. The clinic said it responded by disconnecting access to the network and bringing in outside cybersecurity and IT specialists to secure the environment and investigate what had happened. According to the notice, that investigation found evidence suggesting that some Laurel Eye Clinic data may have been accessed by an unauthorized person.

As for how it happened, the public notice does not give a technical explanation such as ransomware, phishing, or a server intrusion. It says only that there was a network disruption, followed by a forensic investigation, and that the investigation pointed to potential unauthorized access to some data.

The clinic said the information that may have been exposed could include a person’s name, date of birth, driver’s license information, usernames and passwords, medical information, and health insurance information, though it added that the data varied by individual. Laurel Eye Clinic said it would notify affected people by U.S. mail as details became available, and that it would offer complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft restoration services to those whose information was impacted.
