Industrial Acceptance Corporation Data Breach Details:
On February 24, 2025, Industrial Acceptance Corporation became aware of unauthorized activity within its network. After discovering the activity, the company says it took steps to secure its systems, including taking them offline, retaining legal counsel, and bringing in a digital forensics incident response firm to support the investigation and related legal advice. IAC later determined that it had experienced a ransomware event.
Around March 4, 2025, IAC learned that an unauthorized actor had taken certain files from its network. The company says it then began reviewing the files to determine what information may have been involved, whether the files contained personal information, and which individuals the information belonged to. That review was reportedly completed on May 11, 2026, and IAC says it planned to notify affected individuals by First Class U.S. mail on May 28, 2026.
The information involved included names, Social Security numbers, and/or driver’s license numbers. IAC is offering twelve months of credit monitoring services to affected persons. The company says it is also reviewing its current security policies and network protections to identify further measures that may help protect against future threats.
