Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit
Posted: September 19, 2024 -- Attention, victims of the IAMS data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by IAMS.
IAMS Data Breach Summary:
Thousands of individuals were affected by the IAMS data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: Social Security numbers, Passport numbers, driver’s license numbers, account numbers, dates of birth, EINs, financial data, email data, and medical data.
Between March 1 and May 3, 2024, a third party accessed IAMS computer systems remotely and obtained files containing personal information.
Upon discovering the incident, IAMS engaged external cybersecurity experts to remediate, investigate, and determine the scope of the breach. The investigation, conducted in collaboration with cybersecurity advisors, aimed to assess the extent of the incident and the data involved.
This process concluded around July 12, 2024, after which IAMS worked to identify affected individuals and obtain their contact information. IAMS also assessed its system security, implemented measures to prevent future incidents, and reported the breach to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
As a result of the data breach, IAMS is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
