Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

Posted: August 26, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the Healthcare Services Group data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Healthcare Services Group.

Healthcare Services Group Data Breach Summary:

Approximately 624,000 individuals were affected by the Healthcare Services Group data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, state identification number, financial account data and access information.

On October 9, 2024, HCSG detected unauthorized activity in parts of its IT systems, activated its incident-response plan with outside security support, and notified law enforcement. In its Form 8-K filed October 16, 2024, the company said the event had not caused, and was not expected to cause, disruption to operations and was not expected to be material; its 2024 Form 10-K reiterated that assessment in February 2025.

Company notices state that potential unauthorized access was first detected on October 7, 2024, and that an unauthorized actor accessed and copied files between September 27 and October 3, 2024. HCSG has not, in SEC filings, described the intrusion method. Around October 25, 2024, a HCSG was listed on a leak site claiming that about 1.1 TB of data was exfiltrated. Trade press noted HCSG’s SEC disclosure at the time but did not add technical detail beyond “unauthorized activity.”

As a result of the data breach, Healthcare Services Group is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
