Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Gryphon Healthcare.

Gryphon Healthcare Data Breach Summary:

Approximately 393,000 individuals were affected by the Gryphon Healthcare data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of service, diagnosis data, health insurance data, medical treatment data, prescription data, provider data, and medical record numbers.

On August 13, 2024, Gryphon Healthcare, LLC learned of a data security incident involving a partner for whom it provides medical billing services. This incident led to unauthorized access to personal and health information maintained by Gryphon. According to Gryphon, an individual without authorization may have accessed files containing information about patients served by Gryphon's billing services.

Gryphon claims to have initiated a review of all files to identify the individuals and information involved, completing this process on September 3, 2024. The company then collected contact information necessary to notify those affected. Notices were mailed to individuals with available mailing addresses on October 11, 2024.

As a result of the data breach, Gryphon Healthcare is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
