On or about March 14, 2025, Farmer Brothers detected signs of unauthorized access to its computer systems. The company says it immediately began an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the event, secured the systems, assessed whether any information was affected, and notified federal law enforcement.
The investigation reportedly found that an unknown actor accessed certain archived files and folders between March 6 and March 14, 2025. Farmer Brothers says it reviewed the affected files to determine whether any sensitive information was involved, to identify the individuals concerned, and to locate missing address information. The company says it is also implementing additional safeguards and employee training to help mitigate the potential for future cybersecurity events.
As a result of the data breach, Farmer Brothers Company is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
