Cornerstone Healthcare Data Breach Summary:

Thousands of individuals across the United States were affected by the Cornerstone Healthcare data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, federal or state ID numbers, passport numbers, digital signatures, email addresses and passwords, usernames and passwords, health insurance data, medical or health data, protected health data, financial account data, credit or debit card data.

In mid-December 2023, Cornerstone Healthcare Group Management Services LLC ("Cornerstone Healthcare") became aware of network activity in its IT environment. An investigation was initiated, confirming that a data breach occurred on December 19, 2023. This breach involved data from certain healthcare facilities supported by Cornerstone Healthcare.

On May 30, 2024, it was determined that personal information was among the data accessed without authorization. A data review and validation process was conducted, establishing that personal information was among the impacted data.

To address the issue, law enforcement was contacted, and cybersecurity firms were engaged to assist in assessing the incident's scope and cause.

As a result of the data breach, Cornerstone Healthcare is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
