Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit
Posted: August 9, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the Connex Credit Union data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Connex Credit Union.
Connex Credit Union Data Breach Summary:
Approximately 172,000 individuals were affected by the Connex Credit Union data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, Social Security numbers, account numbers, debit card data, and/or other government ID.
Connex Credit Union reported a data security incident involving its computer systems. Connex reportedly observed suspicious activity on its network on June 3, 2025. An investigation subsequently found that files were accessed or downloaded without authorization on or about June 2–3, 2025. Connex Credit Union completed a review on July 27, 2025, mailed notices dated August 6, 2025, and filed a data breach notice with the California Attorney General (among others) on August 7, 2025.
Connex Credit Union did not describe the method used in the cyberattack in the data breach notice. The notice states that Connex Credit Union opened an investigation, implemented security measures, and notified the National Credit Union Administration and federal law enforcement. The notice provides a phone line for questions and directs members to security resources on connexcu.org.
As a result of the data breach, Connex Credit Union is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
