Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit
Posted: January 31, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the Community Health Center data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Community Health Center.
Community Health Center Data Breach Summary:
Approximately 1,060,000 individuals were affected by the Community Health Center data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, date of birth, Social Security number, address, phone number, email, diagnoses data, treatment data, test result data, and health insurance data.
On January 2, 2025, Community Health Center reportedly detected irregular activity within its computer systems. In response, the organization claims to have engaged cybersecurity specialists to conduct an investigation and implement security measures.
According to Community Health Center, the investigation determined that an unauthorized individual with advanced technical expertise had accessed the system and extracted certain data, potentially including personal information. Community Health Center has stated that it believes that the unauthorized access was terminated within a few hours and that no ongoing threat remains.
Following this incident, Community Health Center claims to have enhanced its security protocols and deployed monitoring software to detect unauthorized activity. According to Community Health Center, efforts are also underway to reinforce data protection measures to prevent future breaches.
As a result of the data breach, Community Health Center is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
