Approximately 448,000 individuals were affected by the Center for Vein Restoration data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, address, date of birth, Social Security Number, driver’s license number, diagnosis, lab results, medications, medical record number, treatment data, health insurance data, dates of treatment, provider names, and/or financial data.
The Center for Vein Restoration recently disclosed that it has experienced a data security incident potentially involving protected health information (PHI). On October 6, 2024, the organization identified unusual activity within its information technology infrastructure.
In response, the Center claims it initiated an investigation, secured its computer systems, and contacted law enforcement authorities. A third-party forensic firm was also reportedly engaged to support the investigation.
To mitigate future risks, the Center has stated that it has implemented additional security measures and continues to enhance technical safeguards to strengthen the protection and monitoring of its systems.
As a result of the data breach, Center for Vein Restoration is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
