Byzfunder Data Breach Details:
On November 19, 2025, ByzFunder notified the Maine Attorney General's office of a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to its systems, which occurred on or around September 1, 2025, but was only detected on November 12, 2025. The breach resulted from an external hacking attempt that compromised certain data files, potentially exposing personal identifiers such as names combined with other sensitive elements for approximately 15,000 individuals nationwide. In response to the data breach, the company says it promptly initiated notifications to affected parties and provided complimentary access to one year of identity protection services, encompassing credit monitoring, fraud resolution support, and a $1 million insurance reimbursement policy to address possible misuse of the exposed information.
As a result of the data breach, Byzfunder is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
