Upon identifying the suspicious activity, the organization initiated containment procedures and enlisted external specialists in cybersecurity to conduct a comprehensive review. The probe revealed that certain personal details had indeed been viewed or extracted by the intruder, with this confirmation coming around early August 2025. The council proceeded to alert those potentially involved through formal notifications updated by mid-August 2025.

The breach stemmed from unauthorized entry into select network areas, though the precise technique employed by the perpetrator remains unspecified. In response, the council enhanced its security protocols, performed in-depth forensic analysis, and established a dedicated support hotline for inquiries. For those whose social security numbers were exposed, complimentary credit monitoring services were made available.
