About Brockton Neighborhood Health Center:

Brockton Neighborhood Health Center (BNHC) was founded in 1992 to address the need for primary and preventive health care services in Brockton, Massachusetts. The organization began by operating from a mobile medical unit located in a church parking lot, serving patients starting in 1994. In 2007, BNHC expanded its operations by constructing a multi-story facility in downtown Brockton, consolidating services previously delivered across different locations. This expansion allowed the center to enhance the scope and reach of its health care delivery.

The health center provides a broad range of medical and support services to the local community. Its offerings include adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health services, substance use treatment, urgent care, dental services, eye care, and women's health programs. BNHC also addresses infectious disease management and operates community outreach initiatives. Interpreter services are available to facilitate communication for non-English speaking patients, reflecting the center’s effort to ensure access to care for individuals across linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

BNHC extends its services beyond the primary facility through programs designed to assist underserved populations. The Substance Use Services Department administers programs such as a harm reduction clinic, the Moms Do Care initiative, and services for homeless individuals. Outreach efforts include mobile units and partnerships with shelters, including a clinic based at Father Bill’s shelter. These initiatives reflect the center’s focus on increasing health care access and delivering services to individuals who encounter barriers to traditional health care settings.
