AppFolio
Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

Posted: October 8, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the AppFolio data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by AppFolio.

AppFolio Data Breach Summary:

THOUSANDS of individuals were affected by the AppFolio data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: Names, Social Security Numbers.

AppFolio Data Breach Details:

On August 22, 2025, AppFolio learned of a security incident at Salesloft, a sales-enablement vendor used by AppFolio. Reports indicated the event affected hundreds of organizations and enabled an unauthorized party to access records in AppFolio’s CRM between August 8 and August 18, 2025. AppFolio says it disabled all Salesloft integrations and opened an investigation. The inquiry reportedly confirmed that the actor sent requests to the hosted CRM and received data in response. Investigators apparently traced the requests to a location in the system that held personal information but could not determine which specific records were returned.

On September 18, 2025, the investigation concluded that the accessed records may have included names and Social Security numbers for some individuals. To lower the risk of a repeat event, AppFolio engaged with Salesloft to review the vendor’s remediation steps and the controls intended to prevent future incidents.

As a result of the data breach, AppFolio is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
