Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by AnnieMac.

AnnieMac Data Breach Summary:

Approximately 171,000 individuals were affected by the AnnieMac data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names and Social Security numbers.

On August 23, 2024, AnnieMac discovered a computer network intrusion. The company secured computer systems, verified network security, and initiated an investigation with forensic specialists. The investigation reportedly determined that between August 21 and August 23, an entity accessed systems on AnnieMac's network and viewed or copied files.

AnnieMac identified the files and reviewed them to ascertain the information involved, the individuals affected, and addresses for notification. After completing this process, AnnieMac issued notifications to affected individuals.

In response to the incident, the company investigated and addressed the breach, assessed system security, and identified individuals involved. AnnieMac also implemented cybersecurity safeguards.

As a result of the data breach, AnnieMac is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
