Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by American National Bank & Trust.

American National Bank & Trust Data Breach Summary:

Approximately 52,000 individuals were affected by the American National Bank & Trust data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: Names, Addresses, Dates of Birth, Social Security Numbers, Driver’s License Numbers, Government-issued ID number (e.g. passports, state ID cards), Financial Data (e.g. account numbers, credit or debit card data), Medical Data, Health Insurance Data.

On January 22, 2025, unauthorized access to the American National Bank & Trust network was discovered. Upon detection of this intrusion, measures were undertaken to secure the network and the data within it.

In accordance with established protocol, an investigation was initiated with assistance from a cybersecurity firm. The investigation concluded that the breach took place between January 21 and January 22, 2025. It was further determined on April 28, 2025, that a file containing personal information had been accessed without proper authorization.

As a result of the data breach, American National Bank & Trust is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
