Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit
Posted: June 27, 2025 -- Attention, victims of the Ahold Delhaize data breach.
Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the data breach recently announced by Ahold Delhaize.
Ahold Delhaize Data Breach Summary:
Approximately 2,242,000 individuals were affected by the Ahold Delhaize data breach, and breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, contact data, date of birth, government-issued identification numbers (Social Security, passport and driver’s license numbers), financial account data, health data, and employment-related data.
On November 6, 2024, Ahold Delhaize says it discovered unauthorized access to portions of its internal business systems in the United States. In response, the company says it initiated an investigation with support from external cybersecurity firms and informed federal law enforcement. It also began taking steps to manage and limit the impact.
Through the investigation, it was reportedly determined that an outside party accessed and extracted certain files from an internal U.S. file repository during a timeframe spanning November 5 to 6, 2024. Ahold Delhaize has been examining the compromised files to understand what was accessed and whether any personal information was involved. The company recently confirmed that some files may have included employment-related data connected to current and former personnel affiliated with Ahold Delhaize USA companies.
Since the incident was detected, Ahold Delhaize says it has worked to investigate the breach, secure its systems, and evaluate any risks. It also reportedly continues to implement measures to strengthen system security and prevent similar incidents in the future.
As a result of the data breach, Ahold Delhaize is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to some affected individuals.
