Data Breach Class Action
August 15, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the VNS Health data breach.
Recently, TMG Health, a vendor for VNS Health, encountered a data security issue. TMG is responsible for handling claims processing and various administrative tasks for VNS Health, which includes receiving the personal health data of VNS Health's members. TMG identified a security weakness affecting its MOVEit Secure File Transfer server on May 31, 2023. In response to this, TMG initiated a formal investigation on June 2, 2023, and took the steps recommended by the vendor to mitigate potential exploitation of this vulnerability. As TMG gained more insight into the nature of this security flaw and the risks associated with it, their investigation continued. On June 22, 2023, VNS Health was informed by TMG that, through the course of the investigation, they discovered unauthorized access to specific files on the MOVEit server, which occurred between May 30 and June 2, 2023. By June 27, 2023, TMG found that the unauthorized individual or group alleged possession of some, or potentially all, of the compromised files.
Approximately 103,000 individuals were affected by the VNS Health data breach.
