Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

January 30, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Timex Group data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Timex Group data breach.

On June 5, 2023, Timex Group noticed unusual activities in its computer systems. The company claims it promptly initiated an inquiry to understand the extent and nature of these activities. This inquiry, supported by external computer forensic experts, revealed that Timex Group had been targeted by a complex cyber attack, leading to a data breach of its systems from June 1, 2023, to June 5, 2023.

It was also found that an external entity had accessed or extracted specific data from the network during this time. Consequently, Timex Group conducted an analysis of the compromised data to ascertain if any confidential information was involved and the individuals it pertained to. By December 14, 2023, it was established that the data included personal details of current and past employees.

Following the detection of the data breach, Timex Group swiftly proceeded to examine and address the breach, evaluate its system security, and pinpoint individuals potentially impacted. The company informed federal law enforcement about the data breach and is currently enhancing its preventive measures and employee training.

As a result of the data breach, Timex Group appears to be offering 12 or 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 3,000 individuals were affected by the Timex Group data breach.
