August 9, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the TD Ameritrade data breach.

On May 30, 2023, TD Ameritrade discovered a data breach affecting MOVEit Transfer, a software application previously utilized by the company for file sharing. Upon becoming aware of the breach, TD Ameritrade immediately launched an exhaustive investigation. It was determined that unauthorized individuals accessed a TD Ameritrade application of the MOVEit Transfer software between May 28, 2023, and May 30, 2023, resulting in data theft. TD Ameritrade has confirmed that no other parts of their computer systems or data were affected, and all systems are currently functioning as normal. The investigation's findings revealed that the breach did include some personal information.

Approximately 61,000 individuals were affected by the TD Ameritrade data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name and Social Security number, information related to financial accounts, birth date, government-issued identification numbers, and other unique personal identifiers.
