August 19, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Sunflower Bank data breach.

On or around May 31, 2023, Sunflower Bank received a notification from Progress Software Corporation, a third-party software vendor, regarding a security vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer software. Sunflower Bank employs this software to securely transfer sensitive, confidential information and various other data. The MOVEit software does not function as part of Sunflower Bank's central processing systems. Instead, it runs on a local server, which is isolated from the rest of Sunflower Bank's IT infrastructure. After being alerted by MOVEit, Sunflower Bank initiated its incident response procedures and sought the expertise of external technology specialists for further investigation. Since being informed of the issue, Sunflower Bank has maintained consistent communication with Progress Software and has applied all of the updates that Progress Software has released to resolve the issue. Sunflower Bank remains vigilant, continuing to scrutinize the system for any signs of abnormal activity. Furthermore, Sunflower Bank has reported this incident to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.
