October 25, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Progressive Leasing data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Progressive Leasing data breach.

On September 11, 2023, Progressive Leasing suffered a cybersecurity incident that compromised specific computer systems. An unauthorized third-party successfully breached the company's network and accessed files containing personal information of certain customers and employees. Immediately upon discovering the incident, Progressive Leasing enlisted the expertise of leading cybersecurity specialists and initiated an investigation. Progressive Leasing informed law enforcement authorities of the breach and the company's internal team, cybersecurity experts, and law enforcement are collaboratively investigating and addressing the incident. In compliance with regulatory requirements, Progressive Leasing is also notifying relevant authorities. As part of its ongoing commitment to safeguarding information, the Progressive Leasing is reviewing and enhancing its existing data privacy policies and procedures to minimize the risk of future occurrences.

As a result of the data breach, Progressive Leasing is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 193,000 individuals were affected by the Progressive Leasing data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, contact information, Social Security numbers, and other personal identifiable information.
