Physician’s Business Office
Data Breach Class Action

September 26, 2022, Attention: victims of the Physician’s Business Office data breach.

In April 2022, Physician’s Business Office first learned of irregular activity within its computer systems. Upon learning about the unusual activity, Physician’s Business Office secured its computer systems and hired independent computer forensics experts to investigate. Subsequently Physician’s Business Office learned that some data on its computer network had been accessed and possibly exfiltrated by unauthorized individuals in what appeared to be a data breach. Information that may have been part of the data breach included files Physician’s Business Office kept and secured for various healthcare providers in the regular course of business. Physician’s Business Office subsequently conducted a complete review of the information that may have been affected to establish if any personally identifiable health information or protected health information was impacted by the data breach, confirm the health care provider for whom the data was related, and determine the identity of any individuals with whom data might have been involved.

Approximately 196,573 individuals were affected by the Physician’s Business Office data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, address, date of birth, driver’s license number, Social Security number, medical treatment data, disability code, diagnosis data, prescription data and health insurance account data.
