May 15, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the PharMerica data breach.
PharMerica has reported that on or about March 14, 2023, it first learned of potentially unauthorized activity within its computer network environment. After learning about the data breach, PharMerica claims it initiated an internal review and hired an independent third-party cybersecurity investigator to scrutinize and lock down its computer network environment. The cybersecurity investigator’s review established that an unidentified and unauthorized third-party gained access to PharMerica’s computer network environment. This unauthorized access reportedly began on March 12, 2023, and ended on March 13, 2023. The independent third-party cybersecurity investigator’s review also determined that confidential information may have been accessed and exfiltrated from PharMerica’s computer network environment during the data breach.
Approximately 5,815,591 individuals were affected by the PharMerica data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, medications and health insurance information.
