Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

March 26, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Pembina County Memorial Hospital data breach.

On March 7, 2023, Pembina County Memorial Hospital experienced unauthorized access to its computer systems, which was identified upon noticing irregular activity on its network on April 13, 2023. The investigation revealed that the breach resulted in the unauthorized retrieval of certain data. Pembina County Memorial Hospital initiated a review of the compromised data to ascertain the identities of individuals whose personal or protected health information might have been compromised. This review process was completed on March 4, 2024.

In the aftermath of the data breach, Pembina County Memorial Hospital has stated that it is bolstering its cybersecurity measures. This includes introducing additional security enhancements, expanding cybersecurity education for employees, and refining its cybersecurity strategies and practices. These efforts are aimed at fortifying Pembina County Memorial Hospital's defenses against future cybersecurity threats.

As a result of the data breach, Pembina County Memorial Hospital is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.
