March 6, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Northeast Orthopedics data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Northeast Orthopedics data breach.

On November 22, 2023, Northeast Orthopedics detected unauthorized activity within its computer network. Northeast Orthopedics claims it quickly initiated an investigation with help from external experts.

The investigation, concluded on December 29, 2023, purportedly revealed that an unauthorized entity might have accessed specific files within the Northeast Orthopedics computer network during a brief timeframe. Consequently, Northeast Orthopedics conducted a detailed examination of the affected areas of its network to identify the nature of the information involved and the individuals to which it pertained.

This review was completed on February 8, 2024, leading to the discovery that sensitive personal information of multiple individuals may have been compromised.

As a result of the data breach, Northeast Orthopedics is offering free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 177,000 individuals were affected by the Northeast Orthopedics data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, drivers license data, payment data, health insurance data, medical record data, and treatment and diagnosis data.
