October 16, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Newtron Group data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Newtron Group data breach.

An unauthorized third party breached The Newtron Group's computer network, gaining access from August 2, 2023, to August 3, 2023. The organization responded by isolating the incident, conducting an internal investigation with the assistance of a forensic security firm, and notifying law enforcement. It was discovered on September 20, 2023, that certain documents may have been accessed by the unauthorized party. To prevent future incidents, The Newtron Group has bolstered their technical security measures.

As a result of the data breach, Newtron Group is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 39,000 individuals were affected by the Newtron Group data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, Social Security Number, Driver’s License Number, passport number, State or Military ID Number, financial account data (bank account or health savings account number), date of birth, medical data and health insurance data, birth certificate, marriage certificate, and/or tax ID number.
