Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

November 4, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Mulkay Cardiology data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Mulkay Cardiology data breach.

On September 5, 2023, Mulkay Cardiology experienced a ransomware attack in which an unidentified, unauthorized third party infiltrated and encrypted certain devices and files within its computer network. In response, the cardiology center swiftly fortified its network, reinstated systems from existing backups, and informed law enforcement. Furthermore, Mulkay Cardiology appointed a prominent forensic security firm via its legal counsel to conduct a thorough investigation.

The investigation revealed that from September 1 to September 5, 2023, the unauthorized entity had accessed the center's systems and potentially procured documents during the breach. By September 14, 2023, the assessment by Mulkay Cardiology confirmed the documents accessed might include personal information of individuals. Consequently, it became evident that the security incident potentially compromised patient information.

As a result of the data breach, Mulkay Cardiology is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.
