Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

December 14, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Jacmar data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Jacmar data breach.

The Jacmar Companies, which include Jacmar Foodservice Distribution and Shakey's USA, Inc., has revealed in a data breach filing that it recently uncovered unauthorized access to its computer network. According to Jacmar, this unauthorized access occurred on or around June 2, 2023.

Jacmar claims that upon discovering the unauthorized access to its computer network, it promptly began an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts who have experience investigating and examining data breaches and other cyber security incidents to determine the scope of any breach of the data on its computer network.

As a result of the data breach, Jacmar is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 4,800 individuals were affected by the Jacmar data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: Social Security numbers.

Jacmar, established in 1959 and now operating from the City of Industry, California, is a foodservice distributor specializing in a variety of products. The company's 232,000-square-foot distribution center caters to the California and Nevada markets. Their product range includes dairy, meats, seafood, frozen and refrigerated items, dry goods, canned goods, and non-food items. Jacmar also pursues efficient supply chain solutions, aiming to enhance profitability and streamline operations for their clients.
