February 15, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Highmark data breach.
A data breach class action investigation is underway regarding the recently confirmed data breach affecting Highmark Inc. (Highmark). As recently reported by Highmark, on or about December 15, 2022, Highmark first learned that it had been experiencing a data breach that resulted from an employee engaging with a fraudulent phishing email. The data breach reportedly lasted from December 13, 2022, to December 15, 2022, and resulted in an unauthorized data breach facilitator gaining access to files containing personal and protected health information.
Approximately 250,000 - 300,000 individuals were affected by the Highmark data breach.
Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, driver’s license information, phone numbers, passport information, email addresses, dates of birth, identification number, enrollment data (e.g., group name), claims or treatment data (e.g., claim numbers), prescription data, procedures, dates of service, financial data, and social security numbers.
