Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

December 6, 2023 -- Attention: victims of the Hi-School Pharmacy data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Hi-School Pharmacy data breach.

On November 3, 2023, a disruption occurred in the computer network of Hi-School Pharmacy. The company claims it immediately began an investigation and sought help from digital forensic specialists. The investigation indicated potential unauthorized access to certain personal information. By November 21, 2023, Hi-School Pharmacy confirmed that personal information had been involved in the breach.

In response, the company hired a consumer remediation firm to offer notification and identity protection services to those impacted individuals. Hi-School Pharmacy also informed the FBI about the incident. Additionally, the company claims it has implemented new measures to improve its network security and reduce the risk of future cybersecurity incidents.

As a result of the data breach, Hi-School Pharmacy is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 17,000 individuals were affected by the Hi-School Pharmacy data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: Social Security numbers.

Hi-School Pharmacy, established in the early 20th century, is a traditional drug store initially located across from Vancouver High School in Vancouver, Washington. In 1925, it was a favorite among students for its diverse offerings, including a soda fountain, candies, and school supplies. Its expansion began in 1939 with the addition of a pharmacy and continued over the decades with further growth and acquisitions, expanding its presence from Northern California to Oregon and Southwest Washington. The 1980s marked a significant addition with the integration of Ace Hardware into many of its stores.

In addition to retail services, Hi-School Pharmacy provides various customer services such as vaccinations, free blood pressure tests, passport photo services, and online photo printing, catering to a wide range of customer needs.
