Following the discovery of the breach, Heart of Texas Behavioral claims it promptly initiated a thorough investigation with the help of external IT security experts and have since verified the integrity of its computer network. Additionally, Heart of Texas Behavioral claims it is actively improving its technological defenses to avert similar incidents in the future.

As a result of the data breach, Heart of Texas Behavioral is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 63,700 individuals were affected by the Heart of Texas Behavioral data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: first and last name, address, date of birth, health insurance policy number, medical data, medical record number, Social Security number, and/or treatment data.
