This inquiry revealed that from August 10, 2023, to August 21, 2023, unauthorized individuals accessed certain Greensboro College computer systems. Following this, the college undertook an evaluation of the affected systems to understand the nature of the information involved, the individuals affected, and to compile necessary contact details, concluding this process on February 5, 2024.

Moreover, Greensboro College is reinforcing its commitment to the security and confidentiality of personal data by implementing enhanced technical measures and updating its policies and procedures.

As a result of the data breach, Greensboro College is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 52,500 individuals were affected by the Greensboro College data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, Social Security numbers, financial account data, dates of birth, passport numbers, medical data, and health insurance data.
