Unfortunately, at this time very little information is publicly available about the recently announced Genentech data breach. A filing with the Attorney General of Texas on May 22, 2024, indicates that there was a data security breach affecting medical information of more than 5800 Texans. According to information filed with the Attorney General of Texas, notice of the data security breach is being sent to affected consumers in Texas.

This data breach appears to be part of the recently announced Cencora / Lash Group data breach. It is not clear if notices regarding this breach will come from Cencora / Lash Group, or from Genentech, or from both.

It is unclear if Genentech is offering credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals at this time. Data Breach notices being sent to affected individuals by Cencora / Lash Group include an offer for 24 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services.

Thousands of individuals were affected by the Genentech data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, dates of birth, addresses, and medical data.
