Data Breach Class Action
Alert: All consumers who received a notice of data breach from Flagstar Bank or anyone who was potentially damaged by the Flagstar Bank data breach.
March 10, 2021, the law firm of Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the reported data security breach of Flagstar Bank customer data. Flagstar Bank is the latest in a line of companies affected by the Accellion data security problems -- the data breach resulted from an unauthorized third-party who made use of a security weakness in Flagstar Bank's file transfer application provided by Accellion to gain access to certain Flagstar Bank files.
As of the date of this writing, Flagstar has not disclosed what types of data were compromised in the data breach.
Flagstar Bank is a regional bank with banking locations in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin. As reported by Flagstar Bank, it at once stopped using Accellion’s secure file transfer services after it initially received notification about the data security breach on January 22, 2021. Flagstar Bank then initiated an investigation of the data breach on its own and determined that its mortgage systems and core banking systems were not affected by the data breach. Please feel free to visit Flagstar Bank's Data Breach website for additional information.
