Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit

March 16, 2024 -- Attention: victims of the Eland Energy data breach.

Abington Cole + Ellery is investigating the recently announced Eland Energy data breach.

According to Eland Energy, on January 19, 2024, during the early hours, it detected the presence of an unauthorized entity accessing its computer server. Eland Energy claims it immediately cut off this access and alerted law enforcement agencies. Additionally, Eland Energy has stated that it engaged a well-regarded forensics firm to investigate the extent of the breach.

The ongoing inquiry revealed on January 30, 2024, that the compromised server housed sensitive personal information. Eland Energy is reviewing the compromised data to identify the individuals impacted by this breach and is in the process of informing those affected individuals. Eland Energy claims it has also been actively enhancing its cybersecurity measures to prevent a recurrence of such an incident.

As a result of the data breach, Eland Energy is offering 12 months of free credit monitoring and/or identity theft protection services to affected individuals.

Approximately 18,200 individuals were affected by the Eland Energy data breach.

Breached data may include, but is not necessarily limited to: names, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, and Social Security numbers.
